Obituary

Marlon was born on July 21, 1975, in Baltimore, MD to parents James H. Shields, Jr. and Muriel A. Lee. He spent most of his childhood in Cambridge, MD. He absolutely adored his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Lakisha F. Smith, in 2009 in Durham, NC, and the couple had three sons together. He has another son, whom he adored, Marrone Shields. He has two adorable granddaughters, who affectionately referred to him as “P Dot.”

Marlon graduated from Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, in Cambridge, MD in 1993. He joined the Marine Corps in August 1993 and was honorably discharged in July 1996. He then spent most of his career working as a Support Specialist in the Service Industry.

Shields (Mia) of Greensboro, NC; his younger children Khalil Shields and M’Kari Shields, both of Durham, NC; his brother Daryl M. Shields of Cambridge, MD; his sister India Shields of Cambridge, MD; his two granddaughters M’Alei Shields and Zhy’Lei Shields, both of Durham, NC; and a host of beloved nephews and nieces.

Lee of Woolford, MD; his maternal grandmother, Alice B. Lee of Hurlock, MD; and his father, James Herbert Shields, Jr. of Salisbury, MD.
