Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. Please click the link to find out more:
Duke Community Bereavement Services aim is to facilitate a safe and healing grief process for persons of all ages who are adjusting to a loss due to death. DCBS offers individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, an overnight bereavement camp for children, and holds a Service of Remembrance twice a year.
The Unicorn Bereavement Center is located in an historic farmhouse on 11 beautiful acres of spreading oaks in Hillsborough which is easily accessible from I-40 and I-85.

Parents of Murdered Children, Inc. is a national organization that offers support to individuals who have lost loved ones to Homicide.
The local POMC-Durham Chapter meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Main Branch of the Durham Library.

The Yellow Ribbon Program is a pro-active preventive outreach program aimed at saving the lives of youth by preventing suicide. Suicide is the #2 cause of teen death. "Suicide victims are not trying to end their life... they are trying to end the pain."

A free eight-week general loss support group for adults is offered at various times throughout the year at Union Baptist Church to church members and members of the community who experienced a loss three or more months ago.
