Ellis D. Jones & Sons Funeral Directors

Military Services

Our Funeral Directors can assist families in making special arrangements for veterans and active members of the United States Military.

Veterans and Active Duty Military members and their families should know that Arlington National Cemetery is reportedly running out of room by around 2040. Because of this military families should know that they have plenty of options that include the ability to stay in your home state at beautiful and well maintained cemeteries.

Families have the option to consider State Veteran Cemeteries such as the ones in North Carolina at Fort Bragg, Jacksonville, and Black Mountain.
The Department Veterans Affairs also maintains Salisbury National Cemetery and Raleigh (now full) National Cemetery.
Military members active and veterans honorably discharged along with their spouses are eligible for burial at these Cemeteries for free.

We assist families in requesting Military Honors, securing burial in a National or State Veteran’s Cemetery, procuring a United States Flag to drape on the casket, ordering a headstone and applying for Burial Benefits. A Military Discharge or Form DD-214 is required to request these services.
