JoAnn Turrentine Parson
JoAnn Turrentine Parson was born September 12, 1947 to the late Joseph and Lucille Reams Turrentine in Durham County, NC. She departed this life on November 8, 2018 at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC surrounded by her loved ones.
JoAnn was educated in Durham County, graduating from Merrick- Moore High School in 1966. She furthered her education by attending NC Central University. JoAnn was employed by Corporate Union in New York City, New York; GTE (now Verizon) in Durham, NC and finally at Corning in Wilmington, NC. JoAnn was wed in holy matrimony to Fermond Parson, Sr. and from this union, two children were born: Sonia P. Smith (deceased) and Fermond Parson, JR. (Robin).
Left to mourn her death are: three brothers, Michael A Turrentine, Sr., Calvin L. Turrentine, and Edward S. Turrentine (Kim); three sisters: Barbara Gail T. Belvin (Dennis), Karen R. Turrentine, and Denise T. Rice, all of Durham, NC; six grandchildren and one special niece. Also left to remember JoAnn are uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
