Dorah Mae Owens Alston, daughter of the late Earnest Owens & Josephine Owens, was born November 4, 1930 in Littleton, North Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on September 20 2018 at Carver Living Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Dorah was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Plainfield, NJ and also attended Union Baptist Church in Durham, NC. She loved to hear the word and listen to the choir. She loved to shop, cook, and collect numerous angel figurines. She loved her big family including all of her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching TV shows like Steve Harvey and Law & Order.
She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 50 plus years Robert L. Alston Sr. and great grandson Jazz L. Alston Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory; 1 sister, Theresa Owens Purdue of Portsmouth VA; 3 Children, Winifred Alston (Rosalyn), Barbara Graham both of Durham NC, Robert L Alston Jr (Denise) of Newark NJ; 8 Grandchildren, Dana, Cassandra, Jazz, Thomas, Brandi, Emmanuel(Yazmean), Faith, Joy; 4 Great grandchildren, Jaden, Isaiah, Zendaya, Josiah; A numerous host of nieces and nephews and loving relatives.
