Obituary Mrs. Della Mae Lovely Alston, 69 years of age, went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 24, 2018. Della was born on May 4, 1949, in Durham, North Carolina, to the late Levi and Dollie Lovely. She was a graduate of Merrick-Moore High School in 1967 and received her Associate degree in Applied Science for Accounting from Durham Technical Institute in 1978. She worked at IBM (International Business Machines) serving in various capacities with the manufacturing division for over 20 years. Della had a deep-rooted faith in God which she expressed by attending church all her life. As a youth and young adult, she attended Bethel Tabernacle Holiness Church where she grew in the word. Later, she became a dutiful member of Charity Christian Fellowship, Inc. In her final years she attended Bible Baptist Church where the members loved to hear her powerful prayers. Della leaves to cherish in her memory, husband: Willie Alston Jr.; sons: Willie Alston III (Cecelia); David Alston (Fatima); daughter: Angela McGinnis (Robert); grandchildren: Rachel, Sarah and Robert McGinnis II, and David Alston II; goddaughter: Zykeria Stroud; siblings: Willie L Jones Sr. (Tessie), Dollie Moser (Henry), her twin sister Ella Caldwell, Patricia Dolby (Theodore), Janice Haskins (Arthur), Marsha McLean (Michael), Mark Lovely (Darlene), and a host of loving, cousins, sister/brother in laws, nieces/nephews and friends. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. Psalms 27:4
