Obituary for Willie "Bubba" Bass, Jr.
Mr. Willie (Bubba) Bass, Jr. departed this earthly walk of life on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
Willie was born in Granville County, NC to the late Willie Marlin Bass and Elsie Marie Cozart Bass on July 27, 1957.
Willie attended Durham Public Schools and was employed for a time at Duke Hospital in housekeeping. He also worked in hospitality at Willowhaven Country Club.
"Bubba" as he was affectionately known, loved working outside with his hands. You could always catch him outside humming or singing off-key as he worked in the yards of his neighbors and friends up and down the street he resided.
Willie was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Jean Milligan and his brother, Derrick Tyrone Bass.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory a wife of thirty-nine years, Lumilla Mitchiner Bass; two daughters, Cheri M. Mitchiner and Chalanda Mitchiner; three grandchildren, Frederick Tucker, Khalid Graves, Saniya Mitchiner; two great-grandchildren, Fred Tucker and Ben Tucker; four brothers, Michael Bass, Danny Bass, Calvin Bass, Stacey Poole; one uncle, Johnnie Cozart Sr. (Edith); six aunts, Maggie Fogg (John), Helen Burnette, Dorothy Cougar (Charles), Cyrenia Bass, Rachel Cozart, Jannie Cozart; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was a good natured person and will be missed by everyone that knew him.
