Obituary for Bill Evans

William "Bill" Clinton Evans was born on December 9, 1956
in Bahama, NC. to the late William Costello Evans and Doris Suitt
Evans. He departed this life on January 15,2021. Bill, as he is best
known, accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at
Mount Level Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
Bill was a 1975 graduate of Northern High School, Durham, NC.
At Northern, he was a track super star who broke many records
and a bus driver. Bill never met a stranger and was always ready
to lend a helping hand. Following graduation, he was employed
with Durham County Schools Maintenance Department. After
several years there, he went to work at IBM for over a decade. He
was currently employed with Durham Area Transit System as a bus
driver and was looking forward to retirement this year. One of his
passions was cars - from Fiat, Porsche, Old Pick-up Truck, to his
latest projects, a BMW, better known as the "Scuttle Bug"
Convertible and a Silver Dodge Ram 1500 Truck. Following the
legacy of his Dad and other elders, he enjoyed the country and
outdoor activities, especially riding motorcycles, boating and fishing.
Bill was united in holy matrimony to the former Vertina Michelle
Parker and joining in this union were two sons, Marcus Verando
Evans of the home and Brandon Christopher Evans of Durham, NC.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons - Marcus (Kendra) Evans
and Brandon (Mary) Evans; granddaughter - Dakota Skye Evans;
brother - Ronald (Sharon) Evans, sisters - Phyllis Evans (Dungee)
Taylor; loving nieces and nephews - Karla Evans Crews, Heather
Evans McClain, Kiyanna Evans, Nikki Paylor Fuller, Mario Paylor
