Obituary for Toni Denise Tutt

Toni Denise Tutt, 27, of Durham, North Carolina sadly left us, Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from unexpected complications due to juvenile diabetes.
Toni was born March 11, 1995, in Durham, North Carolina to her mother Daya Tutt and her father, Tony Hall. Toni excelled in everything she did and had a brilliant mind. She graduated from J.D. Clement Early College in 2013. She then continued her education at Louisburg College obtaining an Associate in Arts degree. In 2018, Toni received her Batchelor’s Degree in Communications from North Carolina Wesleyan University. Toni was working to obtain her Masters in Rhetoric and Composition at North Carolina State University in order to pursue her love of behind-the-scenes broadcasting.
Toni was an extraordinary young woman. She was an absolute light and joy to be around. She loved her family and friends deeply, fiercely, and with extreme loyalty. She was a Harry Potter and Twilight fan (Team Jacob!) If you know and love Harry Potter as Toni did, you will understand this reference -- she was the ultimate Hufflepuff: loyal, hardworking, dedicated, and self-sacrificing.
Toni also enjoyed many other fandoms: Game of Thrones, Interview with a Vampire, BTS among others, anime, musical theater, and movies (especially Disney movies). She once said that seeing Hamilton was one of the greatest thrills of her life because she enjoyed its satire and humor.
Toni loved to play games (video, card, or board), cook (she was such a foodie and an adventurous eater), and spending time with loved ones and friends. If she wasn't in the thick of things, you would find her in a corner quietly engrossed in a good book. Toni aspired of be a show runner and dreamed of living in New York after graduation from NCSU.
Toni’s family includes: Her father Tony Hall, her mother Daya Johnson, her stepfather Tarik Johnson, and her sister Imani Johnson all of Durham, NC, her grandparents: Janie Torian and Nathaniel Torain of Roxboro, NC, Toris Jones of Durham, NC, Harvey Fisher and Velma Fisher of Raleigh, NC, Tim Smith and Valerie Smith of Denver, CO, William Hall (Pop) from Lumberton, NC, Tony C. Smith (passed) of Kinston, NC, Virginia Hall (passed) of Durham, NC, Dorothy Hall (step) (passed) Durham, NC. and her great grandparents: Clarence Tutt (passed) Bayboro, NC, Elsie Finwick and Joseph Finwick (step) from Saint Louis, Missouri.
Toni’s family also includes a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.
