Sonya Suitt Muqtasid, beloved wife and mother passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Durham, NC
Sonya was born in Durham, NC at 6:45pm on December 6, 1972 to Warren and Judy Suitt. Sonya Graduated from Durham High School in 1991. After graduation, Sonya went to work for Time Warner. After building her customer service foundation there, she expanded her skill set and went on to work for Virgin Pulse.
Sonya was charitable, playful, loved to laugh, and was a lover of animals and nature. Warren (her father) often tells stories of her and her sister Shawana playing variations of hide and seek. So much to the point where one day they hid in the back seat of his car. He didn't even realize they were there until he was halfway to his destination, and had to turn around to take them back home. She loved to listen to music and exploring the various personal energies that are in all of our spirits. Sonya also had a deep reverence of poetry and writings. Her compassion and giving soul will live on to be an example to all of us.
Sonya is survived and celebrated by her father; Warren Suitt, her husband, Asim Muqtasid; her children, Raziel Saadiq and Asiya; her sister Shawana Suitt Sierra (Chris) of Durham; her brother Douglas Suitt Jr and an abundance of loving nephews, nieces, friends and extended family.
