Obituary for Miss Sharron Annette Smoakes

Sharron A. Smoakes was born in New Haven, CT on July 8, 1969 to the late John H. Smoakes, Sr. and Vonona F. Smoakes. She transitioned from this earth on Sunday, June, 27, 2021 with her sister right by her side in Durham NC.
Sharron was a proud graduate of James Hill House High School with the class of 1988. She then furthered her education and attended Stone Academy of Hamden, CT. where she received her certification as a CNA. She worked as a CNA for several years until she relocated and moved to Durham, NC.
For those who knew Sharron they called her by her nick name, "Mookie". Mookie would walk any and everywhere, rather she was going to work or just living her typical day. She enjoyed being the life of the party dancing and having a good time with her shades on or her shades on the top of her head when the sun wasn't shinning. She was a loving and caring individual who would help anyone in need with whatever they needed. She loved her job as a certified nursing assistant as well as her family. There was nothing she would not do for her family. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.
Preceding her in death was her father and her grandmother, Margaret Aranjo.
Sharron leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Vonona Smoakes; two brothers, John Smoakes, Jr. and Jermaine Smoakes; a sister, Latasha Smoakes; a aunt, May Wilson; a niece, Jayce Smoakes; a nephew, John Smoakes, III and a host of other relatives and friends.
