Ruby Roberta Brewer Saunders was born on April 18, 1959, to the late Robert and Ruby Brewer in Durham, North Carolina. She departed this life on December 23, 2021, at home. She is preceded in death by her brother Victor and Ronald Brewer.
She was educated in Durham Public Schools and graduated from Hillside High School in 1977. She became a member of Jesus House of Prayer, where her and her husband James Saunders continued their relationship with God. Throughout her life she held several positions however, she was known as the bartender at The Talk of the Town for many years. She was Funny, Fashionable, Fly and full of life. She was a loving wife, mother and friend to many. She was such a joy to be around and enjoyed life to the fullest.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, James Leon Saunders III; her one and only son, DeMarcus Brewer (Jackie); her grandchildren, Skylar Brewer, Destinee Coffin and Tajiri Minor; one great- grandchild, Jace Webb; her brothers, Dennis Brewer (Lelia) and Thomas Brewer (Jolene) of Durham, NC; her sisters, Patty Dempson, Wendy Wilson, Veda Brewer of Durham, NC, and Teresa Cote (John) of Cary, NC; her sister in laws, Apostle Adrianna Corey (Roland), Linda Saunders Jacobs, Valerie Saunders Johnson and Karen Saunders; her godsons, Christopher Mayo (Sabrina) and Johnny Parker (Kiley); her best friend, McDaniel Roberts and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
