Roderick Neil Pettiford was born on November 6, 1956 the fifth child of McNeil and Jettlean Winstead Pettiford.
He attended Durham Public Schools graduating from Durham High School in 1975. He graduated from North Carolina Central in 1979 with a degree in Accounting.
After college he lived and worked in Hartford Connecticut until 1984, when he relocated to Houston, Texas. Rod retired from Addison Staffing as a senior executive recruiter. He was well read and known for his sense of humor.
Roderick was affectionately known as (Bo and Rod). He was a health advocate and an avid runner. He enjoyed spectator sports and music. He had a special charisma with children and the elderly.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Mr. McNeil Pettiford, his brother, Christopher, his sister Barbara and brother Ray.
He is survived by his mother, Jettlean W. Pettiford; sisters, Joyce and Deidra; brothers, Glenn and Johnnie; 20 nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
