Obituary for Mr. Reginald Tyrone Jones

Reginald Tyrone Jones was the second child of three born in Richmond, Virginia on February 18, 1968 to Elizabeth Marie Chrisp and Lonnie Jones. He departed this earthly world on June 4, 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Reggie, as he affectionately known, was educated in the Durham Public School System. He attended Sherwood Githens Middle School as well as Hillside High School.

To know Reggie was to understand his great ability to break dance, his impeccable taste in fashion, and most importantly his skills as a D.J. He gained the name “D.J. Flave” over many years as he did weddings, birthday parties, and club venues. Reggie was always known for being the life of the party at every event he attended.

Before relocating from Durham to Charlotte, Reggie was employed at North Carolina Central University and then he joined the staff at Springwood Suites.

On September 16, 2017, Reggie was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Marion McNeil in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Reggie enjoyed spending time with his two sweethearts in his life; his daughters Tiffany and ShyNasty as well as his grandchildren. He cherished every moment of his life with his family and friends. He truly loved seeing everyone having a good time no matter what.

Reggie was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Johnson (Francine).

He leaves to cherish his legacy his wife Marion M. Jones; His parents, Lonnie and Elizabeth Jones; three daughters, Tiffany Traylor, ShyNasty Jones, Jasmine Fowler; son, Quentin Edmunson; four sisters, Deborah Brodie (Stanley), Shawanda Holley (Quentin), Watica Marrow (D’Shawn), Capricia Ammoas (Nicholas); one brother Kenneth Jones (Christina); two aunts Ida Morgan, Evangelist Myrtle Perry (James); one uncle Walter Chrisp (Julia); five grandchildren, Ma’Kayla Traylor, Maddox Traylor, Za’kai Pridgen, Autumn Fowler, Summer Fowler; one God-brother, Timothy Jones; three God-sisters, TaNisha Wall, Chrystal Williams, Monica Allen; five sisters-in-law; and host of extended family and friends.
