Obituary for Ralph Rass Evans Jr.

Ralph Rass Evans, II was born to the late Rass Sr. and Othella Carol Evans on December 10, 1948, in Forsyth, North Carolina. He departed this life on Saturday, December 18, 2021, after a decline in health. He peacefully passed away in his home with his loving wife Hallie at his side.

Ralph received his education in the Forsyth County School System, graduatiing from Atkins HIgh School, Winston Salem, NC in 1969. He served and received and honorable discharge from the Army Branch of Service in 1975. Ralph completed trade school to learn more about driving an 18 - Wheeler Truck. He worked at Goodwill Industires for a while. He retired as a Bus Driver in 2012 from Durham County Public Schools after 12 years of service.

He was known for many traits such as singing in the choir, fostering children, drawing, driving a bus and truck. He loved trucks, especially the Dodge Ram Truck and driving his motorcycle. He was free-spirit and sincerely enjoyed traveling. He had a great affection for dogs but most of all he loved children. He loved talking and reminiscing about his Army days. His military life matched his civilian life.

After two months of courtship, Ralph married the love of his life, Hallie. They were married on August 20, 1994 and enjoyed over 27 years together as one.

He is known as Deacon Evan to his family and friends. He was a servant to the Lord, devoted to fulfilling the needs of the people. In 1999, he left Barbee's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church to serve as First Gentleman Evans at My Savior's Way with is wife Overseer Hallie. He was very active as a memeber and managed many different duties in the sanctuary. He was fondly known for playing the drums or ushering the door.

All of his family loved Ralph and he leaves to cherish his loving memories and mourn his loss: his wbeloved wife of over 27 beautiful years; Hallie Frances Evans; only one brother Donald Evans (Martha); five chidlren: Rannetta, Rass III, Genesis, Mannessah and Charstine; 6 grandchildren: Janae, Kaalon, Ma'Kayla, Zariah, Kayleigh, Remi and a host of other relatives and friends.
