She was married to the late Lee Afford, Sr. and to this union her three children were born. She later found love with the late Mr. Walker and Mr. Roundtree.
Pearlie was an usher, member of the senior chorus and the missionary treasurer at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school faithfully. Pearl once said, “I remember my early years better then the last ten years which is why my grandchildren and great-grandchildren are here to do for me".
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Dora Watson, Walter Blackwell, Charlie Blackwell, and Willie Blackwell; her youngest daughter, Brenda Taborn; and grandchild, Laquania McNeil.
