Obituary for Palestine "Palace" Howze

Ms. Palestine “Palace” Howze, daughter of the late Hettie “Honey Bae” Jane Howze and Jerman Goodman was born February 13, 1949 in Durham, North Carolina. Palestine departed her life on April 14, 2020 at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center.

She was a member of Longs Memorial AME Zion Church in Durham, NC. She received her education in Durham Public School.
She started her employment with Duke University Hospital and retired after 37 years.

Palestine was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She loved playing BINGO and spending time with her family.

Palestine was preceded in death by her parents Hettie Jane Howze and Jerman Goodman, Sisters Rev. Thomasine Howze Smith and Hettie Denise Harrington, brothers Andre Howze and Calvin Howze. She leaves to cherish sisters Belinda Howze of Durham, N.C., Jennie Howze Jones (Charles) of Wake Forest, N.C., and brother in law Frank Harrington, four daughters Earlene Howze, Vertina Howze, Angela Howze, and Lisa Howze all of Durham, North Carolina. Thirteen grandchildren Tamario Howze (Elizabeth) of Durham, N.C., Michael Howze (Kychia) of Durham, N.C., Antonio Howze (Erica) of Durham, N.C., Tyrell Howze, Aaron Howze, Cameron Howze, Ashley Garner, Tyerra Lassister, Christian Howze, Shytina Howze, Erik Howze, Jaylen Howze, Gia-Mya Howze, fourteen great grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
