Martha Omega McAllister was born December 25, 1957, in Saint Pauls, North Carolina to the late Fred D. Robeson, Sr. and Jennie V. Jones Robeson. She gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
Martha attended Plainview Elementary School and Tar Heel High School in Tar Heel, North Carolina. She was a member of the Class of 1976 in which she was Valedictorian. She later obtained her Associates Degree from Robeson Technical College in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Martha was affectionately known as "Chuck" and "Aunt Chuck" by family, nieces and nephews and "Momma Mac" by the many students she impacted while working in various departments during her tenure at North Carolina Central University (NCCU). Prior to retiring in June 2017 she served as Administrative Assistant with the Theatre Department. Martha was employed by NCCU for 30 years.
At an early age Martha joined Second New Light Baptist Church, Saint Pauls, North Carolina. After moving to Durham, North Carolina she joined Union Baptist Church.
Martha was very devoted to her family and friends. Her children "The Boys" were her pride and joy, she loved them more than anything.
She enjoyed spending time and traveling with her "Sisters in Love" Pam "Barney" Bond, Elaine "Laney Pooh" O'Neal, Nakia Kee Kee "Peaches" Jones, Ingrid "Dee" Walker and Jackie "Lil Jackie" Davis. They created many wonderful memories over the years.
She was proceeded in death by her brother Fred D. Robeson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her three sons, William Dwight Kemp, Jr. (Michelle) of Germany, Darrell Lamont Kemp (Julie) of Kittrell, NC and Fredrick Elton McAllister II (Tiffany) of Durham, NC.; sister, Jennie Bonita Robeson-Hackney (Durham, NC); Aunt, Doshia McCormick (Saint Pauls, NC); grandchildren, Denise, Terrell, Tionna, Anthony, Christina, Aleeceya, Rayanna, Julian, Tanasia, Terrel, Zachariah and Jayce; great-grandchild, Acesyn; special God-daughter Robin Featherstone (Josephe) of Durham, NC; nieces, Stephanie Robeson of Durham, NC, Sonya Robeson of Selma, NC; nephews, Stephone Robeson (Kenneka) of Wendell, NC, Steven Robeson of Selma, NC and Brian Robeson of Selma, NC and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
