Obituary for Martha Marie Waller
Ms. Martha M. Waller, the daughter of the late Mr. John H. Waller and
the late Mrs. Willia L. Waller, was born on April 21, 1934 in Granville
County, North Carolina. She departed this temporal life on Friday,
December 28,2018 at Hock Family Pavilion Durham, North Carolina.
Martha decided to devote her life to Christ at an early age and became a
faithful member of Mt. Zoar Baptist Church, Durham, North Carolina.
As a diligent Christian worker, she always encouraged others to come to
Christ After moving from the county to the city of Durham, Martha
dutifully began attending First Calvary Baptist Church for as long as her
health permitted. She was a loving sister.
Martha was educated in the Durham Public School system and was a
graduate of Merrick Moore. She was employed at Duke University
President's house where she worked for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings; Foye Jones, Aserlee
Evans, Reecy Justice, Carlye Waller, Saul Waller, Irene Evans, Maggie
Thaxton; two nieces, Lyndale Justice and Veronica Thaxton and one
godson, Richard Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her loss one brother; John H. Waller, Jr. (Leoly); three sisters, Willa Alston of Richmond, Virginia, Dorothy L. Waller and Margaret W. Young (Kevin) both of Durham, North Carolina; one godson, Thomas Wayne Jones; one goddaughter, Lori Jones both of Durham, North Carolina and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relatives and friends.
