Obituary for Mr. Marc C. Shaw
Mr. Marc Curtis Shaw, father of four and loving husband, passed from this world on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from complication with end stage emphysema and stage four lung cancer. Marc was born on July 7, 1960 in Bronx, N.Y. to his parents Patricia Smith, who proceeds Marc in death, and Donald Shaw.
He attended elementary school in Staten Island, N.Y. Marc along with his grandmother Katherine Smith moved to Jersey City, N.J. when he was about 15 years old. There, he attend Henry Snyder High School in Jersey City where he met his future wife, Regina, while playing spades in study hall in 1977.
They fell in love and went on to start a life together. Marc and Regina moved to Raleigh, N.C. in 1990 and married in 1993. They later moved to Rocky Mount, N.C. where they raised their children. Although they experienced trials and challenges in their marriage, their love remained constant for more then 40 years.
He leaves behind his wife, Regina; his daughters, Tahara Shaw, Geya (Jerrell) Brignac, Sara (Keith) Harris; son, Richard Shaw.
He was such a loving grandfather to Keith "KJ" Harris, Jr. and Dawson Alexander Brignac. Part of his fight to live was to see them grow up. His loving father Donald Shaw and sisters, Kadeejah (Kevin) Jackson and Karema Martinez. Marc was also a brother-in-law to Annecia (Cleveland) Jones, Munsell Norwood and Markel Deshon Norwood. He had nieces, Imani Jackson and Faith Echibiri; nephews, Durand Keith Norwood, Jayni Martinez, Kevin Jackson, Jr. and Dakota Martinez. Not to forget all of the aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He loved his family very much he felt he was blessed to have them and will be missed by them all.
