Obituary for Laura Alice Bosket (Roane)

Laura Alice Bosket, New York City native gained her wings on April 15, 2020. Born November 17, 1940 in Westmoreland Virginia, Laura migrated to New York City 17 days after birth. She continued to reside in NYC until the age of 69.
Laura dedicated 37 years of her life working as a security officer for the City College of New York, where she
was loved and held in high esteem by many of her colleagues. Laura enjoyed her job and rarely took days off over the 37 year period.

Laura lived for her children and grandchildren. She spent a good majority of her time and life ensuring their well-being. Recreationally, she enjoyed sitting outdoors in the sun, socializing with neighbors and community children and taking he grandchildren to the park while she had the ability to. She was known the feisty woman with the heart of gold. All who encountered Laura knew that she was a no nonsense lady but she loved with all she had.

Laura was predeceased by her mother Nancy Spates, her daughter Cheryl Stewart, her granddaughter Lavelle Stewart and her brothers John, Joe and William Spates. Two children Marcie Davis and Willie Bosket Jr. survive Laura. As well as 9 grandchildren, Dana Roane, Danielle Hatch, Melvin Stewart, Cheryl Stewart, Monica Stewart, Cheyyene Stewart, Manny Stewart, Brandon Banks and Shannon Davis. Her sister Anna Dixon also survives Laura. She leaves behind 23 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Laura lived an abundant life. Her satisfaction came from the successes and happiness of her children and grandchildren. She will forever be loved and never be forgotten. May her soul rest peacefully with the Almighty Lord.
