Obituary for Kaseem Devon-Zimbalist Peterson

Kaseem was born in Durham NC on October 21, 1991 to Alberta Peterson-Daye and Baqir Abu-Qasim Mujahid. He departed this earthly life on Sunday June 30, 2019.
He was a graduate of Southern High School. He was a respectful, loyal and popular music artist with accolades and awards with his singing group created by his older brother Michael, which consist of his brothers and cousins. He and the group gave back to the community working with non-profit organizations and giving performances in Durham and the surrounding areas. Kaseem had a wonderful playful spirit, and children loved him. He loved to play basketball, video games, make music with his family and roll around on the floor and play games with his kids. He especially loved the private time with his wife and Mom when they went fishing and did fun things together.
He is preceded in death by his Grandmothers, Lerline Allen and Charlene Peterson. Grandfather Kenneth Peterson. Two Uncles, Albert “AB” Allen and Jimmy Lee Allen, and one Aunt, Doris B. Allen.
He leaves loving memories to his wife Marchell Bennett-Peterson, two children, Kamil Peterson and Tony “Jr.” Rouse, all of Durham. His Mother Alberta Peterson- Daye (Mark), Father Baqir Abu-Qasim Mujahid (Candice) of Durham. Three Brothers. Michael Ingram Jr. Emilio Ingram, and Mark Daye Jr., all of Durham NC. Three Aunts Joeanna Allen, Earline Allen of Durham NC, and Kimberly Peterson of Brooklyn NY. Three Uncles, Warren Peterson (Kannika) of Thailand, Anthony Mangum (Stephaine) of Durham, Barry Womble (Enda) of Bear Creek NC., and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
