Obituary for Joe Pearley

Joe Pearley was a native of Hillsborough, NC and was born on October 15, 1946 to the late Bertha and Henry Pearley. He departed this life on January 31, 2021.

Joe attended Central High School in Hillsborough and retired from West Durham Lumber Company in 2008, where he worked for more than 30 years. On December 30, 1989 he married Everline Hall, the love of his life. From that day, they enjoyed traveling from Baltimore to Florida.

Joe was the rock of our family. He was there for everyone and nicknamed almost everyone. He was a joy to be around – always making us laugh and he loved to have a good time. He was all about keeping the family together.

He started various organizations in the community which included softball, horseshoes, and pokeno. He organized plate sales such as the chitterling struts and fish fries. He was a diehard Duke fan.

Joe was preceded in death by his siblings: Marvin Gorham, William Gorham, Pattie Kearney, Cleveland Gorham, John Pearley, Paul Pearley, George Pearley, Katie Pearley, James “Dip” Pearley, Hattie Colvin, and his great granddaughter Ta’Leah Thorpe.

He is survived by: his wife, Everline Pearley, his three sons: Robert “Jack” Pearley (Brenda), Kenneth Hall, Joe Hall Jr. “JJ”; two daughters: Angela Hall and Michelle Hall; one sister: Clara Humpherey (Donnie); four sisters-in-law: Bessie Pearley, Sylvia Nelson (Albert), Viola Daye (James), Savannah Hall (George); three brothers-in-law: William Hall, Ralph Hall and Preston Hall; 14 grandkids, 13 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He had his “Nasty Boy’s” family as well, with a special honor for “JB.”
