Obituary for Joe Eddie Cooper

Mr. Joe Eddie Cooper was born December 9, 1921 in Durham, North
Carolina. On February 27, 2020, he entered into eternal rest. Mr. Cooper
was proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene Cooper and Luvenia
Watlington Cooper; sister, Callie Mae Faucette; foster brother, John Carter
Washington; and his wife, Mrs. Clara Bullock Cooper.

He was educated in Little River High School. He served in the Army and
attained the Rank of Private First Class. Upon return to civilian life, he
worked for the City of Durham as manager of Beechwood and
Maplewood Cemeteries.

Joe was a member of Lipscomb Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed
baseball, fishing on occasion, socializing with others, listening to different
types of music, such as blues and jazz, and dancing. He had a way and
personality in which most people, familiar or unfamiliar, loved interacting
with him.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Cooper-
Robinson and Dr. Diana Cooper-Dunston; a brother, Robert Cole;
granddaughter, Miss Briana Clarise Cooper; two nieces, Mrs. Florida
Bullock Hill and Ms. Sharyl Richards; and a host of relatives and friends.
