Obituary for James F. Vaughan, Jr.

Mr. James Foye Vaughan, Jr., son of the late James F. Vaughan, Sr., and the late Geraldine Adams Vaughan, was born on September 16, 1958 in Durham, NC and departed this life on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home.
James was a graduate of Durham High School and attended North Carolina Central University. He was Employed at Brame Specialty Company, Not Just Paper, the United States Postal Service.
At an early age, James worshiped with his family at Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Affectionately Called “Jimmy, Jimbo, and Grandpa.” Like his mother he had a heart of gold. He was a, fun- loving strong man, always ready to help others. Jimmy enjoyed cooking and barbecuing under his shed with family and friends. He often had his favorite, a pot of beans on his home-made stove/grill anytime you would stop by. He was always ready to cook a meal and have a good time. Jimmy hated wearing shoes. If not working, he was in his bare feet spring, summer, fall and winter… on rocks, cement, grass, rain or snow! Among his many activities, he was an avid “Tarheel” Fan. You could see Carolina Blue throughout his home, on his cars, sweatshirts, and hats, he loved listening to music. One wall in his home is adorned with records. His grands didn’t know what they were.
Jimmys grandchildren were his heart. He enjoyed riding them around the yard on his lawnmower or letting them drive. He was always taking them to the store and allowing them to purchase whatever their hearts desired. Jimmy had a passion for cars and was always willing to help anyone with a car problem.
Lovingly, wen he got tired of you; he would let you know that you had to go.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah; and several members of the Adams and Vaughan Family.
Those who will cherish his memory are his sons, Jamill M. Vaughan, Steven David Vaughan, Durham, NC; Daughters, Decion Cradle and Latrice Y. Parker, Durham, NC and Dr. Patrice (David) Waller, Corona, California; brothers, Frederick Vaughan, James (Tarnisha) Royster, Durham, NC; and Lorrenzo (Tara) Vaughan, Durham, NC; Doretha (Ronnie) Brown and Lorraine ( Frank) Daniels, Burlington, NC; 9 grandchildren, aunt, Mrs. Eleanor V.
