Jacinta Marie Collins, daughter of Mr. John & Norma Jean Collins was born on March 7, 1989 in Columbia, Maryland. God called her home on Saturday November 20, 2020. She was educated in the Wake County School System. She attended Bennett College with a major in Education. In school, she loved to run track and to sing in the choir. Marie loved to do hair. She excelled in hair styling. She did cornrows, extensions and any style that came into thoughts. She was a “master” stylist. Marie worked at Brighten Horizon Group Home, in Raleigh, NC. She was much loved by the patients and co-workers.
Marie was active in Immanuel Temple SDA church located in Durham, NC. She sang in the children’s choir, youth choir, AVP, soup kitchen helper, pathfinders, and loved to attend AYS. She loved being a mother. She was seen in Sabbath School with Javen in the Cradle Roll department. Javen is her greatest accomplishment. In her quiet times, she would write poetry like her dad. She would share them with him. She enjoyed speaking in sign language. She never turned down an opportunity to have fun, except, when she was pregnant with Javen. After becoming pregnant, she grew into a mature woman. She was an exceptional mom.
Marie enjoyed socializing and being with her friends. People were always drawn to her because of her magnetic personality. Her smile lit up the room and her infectious laugh would make you laugh. Her dad says, “The harmonious radiance of her smile lit up the world”. Marie was known to try new recipes as she loved to cook. Her cooking tasted very good. Her seafood dishes were deemed highly enjoyable. Baking was her second favorite. Once she finished cooking, Marie found time for hobbies. They were knitting, singing and taking pictures.
Jacinta Marie Collins leaves to cherish her memories with love are Javen Jeremiah Collins (son), Mr. and Mrs. John Collins (parents), Jonathan Collins and Marcus Travis (brothers), Chelsea Travis (sister), Woodrow Walker (godfather), Ercille Icilma Warner (godmother), four great aunts and one great uncle, seven aunts, six uncles, two adopted aunts, one adopted uncle, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
