After a courageous battle with illness, God called Sister Ida Louise Watson into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022. Sister Ida Louise Watson was born on December 24th, 1944 to the late Paul and Ruby Watson in Durham, NC.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Juanita Nance, Portia Archie, Barbara Watson – Belcher (sisters), Paul Watson Jr. (brother), and Jimmie Lamont Harris Jr. “June” (grandson).
Sister Ida attended Durham Public School System. She retired from White Star Laundry and Cleaners where she worked for numerous years, until her illness. She joined Union Baptist Church at an early age. She loved and believed in God and always encouraged her children to believe in Him and to put God first no matter what goes on in life. She loved to listen to music, especially gospel, and dance with her siblings and grands (Jimmie, Robin, Jazmine & Carmen). She loved all her nieces and nephews near and far. She never met a stranger in her life.
Sister Ida leaves to cherish her loving memories: three daughters, Frankie Holloway, Valerie Warren (Jeffery), and Gloria Walker (John-Kendu) all of Durham, NC; one son, Alvin Watson (Sarah); grandchildren, Robin Green and Jazmine Warren; one great grandchild, Carmen Breedon, all of Durham, NC and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends
