Obituary

Eloise Outlaw Everette was born May 19, 1954 in Roxboro, NC as the seventh child of William Edgar Outlaw (deceased) and August Winstead Outlaw. She departed this life on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Duke Medical Center.

Eloise graduated from Person High School in 1972. After graduation, she worked at Pioneer Plant II in Burlington, NC as a magazine filler and a head leaser. After working there approximately 2 years, Eloise decided to continue her education at Piedmont Technical Institute where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Executive Secretarial Technology in August 1976.

Upon obtaining her degree, she found employment at the Employment Security Commission of Durham, NC, where she worked for 30+ years.

It was at her job where she met the love of her life, Arthur Everette, whom she called “Snookie Boo”. Together, they had 4 sons; Anthony, Arthur, Derek, and Jonathan.

Eloise Everette caring, sweet spirt touched everyone she encountered. She spent most of her time with family and friends, often visiting her mother (who is 99 years old) every Thursday just to spend the day with her. She enjoyed gardening, often singing her favorite songs while tending to her plants. She also loved cooking for her family, in which she best known for pecan cookies, carrot cake, and cinnamon rolls. Most importantly she loved God, constantly reading her bible and praying.

She was preceded in death by her father William Edgar Outlaw, brothers Edgar A. Outlaw, Jerry T. Outlaw, and Tony R. Outlaw.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Rev. Arthur L. Everette of the home, 4 sons, Anthony E. Hicks (Coluette) of Mebane NC, Arthur Pettiford of High Point NC, Derek L. Everette of Durham NC, and Jonathan W. Everette (Samantha) of Round Lake IL, 5 grandchildren, Abrianna Hicks, Jailyn Fuller, Cameron Hicks, Jacoby Pettiford, and Aubrey Pettiford; her loving mother, Augusta W. Outlaw of Roxboro, NC; 3 sisters, Evangeline Brown of Bronx, NY, Brenda A Scott (Willie) of Roxboro, NC, and Wanda Outlaw-Jay (Ricky) of Roxboro, NC; 3 Brothers, Cornell Outlaw (Harriett) of Halifax, VA, Edwin Sim Outlaw (Josephine) of Roxboro, NC, Christopher Wayne Outlaw (Mary Louise) of Roxboro, NC; 2 additional sister-in-law’s, Mary Lee Outlaw of Roxboro NC and Thelma C. Outlaw of Roxboro NC; 3 aunts, Jettlean Pettiford of Durham NC, Thelma Taylor of Kernersville NC, and Savannah Lewis of Winston Salem NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

To the family of Eloise,
It broke my heart when I heard of her passing. I wish I could come. We had so much fun when we were growing.
She would stay with me and then I would spend the night with her. I enjoy our times together.
