Obituary for Edward Leroy "Ed" Daye
Edward Leroy Daye, son of the late Isaac Thomas Daye and Augusta Jane Jones Daye was born on September 14, 1956 in Bahama, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on on March 31, 2020 in Durham, NC.
Mr. Daye graduated from Hillside High School in the class of 1976. In 1978, Edward married the late Aarona Stewart Daye and to this union a daughter and son were born.
He was a caretaker of "The sloping hills and the verdant green" at North Carolina Central University for 19 years.
Leroy, as most of his beloved family called him was a loving and hardworking man. Along with loving his kids, Leroy enjoyed listening to jazz music and watching all kinds of sports. He especially loved football.
Mr. Daye leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Nakkia Dione Daye of Winston-Salem; a son, Aaron Edward Daye of Gainesville, FL; a devoted partner, Terry Cannady of the home; three uncles, Coy Jones of Durham, NC and Earlie "Tony" Jones of Hillsborough, NC and Joe Daye of Roxboro, NC; and a host of cousins and friends.
