Obituary for DonCarlous Lamont Hayes

DonCarlous Lamont Hayes was born July 12, 1980 to the late Sandra Dean and James Lewis Hayes in Durham, North Carolina. He transitioned peacefully on May 24, 2019 at Duke Regional Hospital. He received his education in the Durham Public School System.

Don was a very beautiful person inside and out. Family was important to him and there was hardly a time where you wouldn’t find him surrounded by his children, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Anyone who had a chance to meet him would tell you how he always said something to make you laugh, whether it was making fun of you or talking junk about your team if you weren’t a UNC Tar Heel fan.

He is preceded by his, parents, James and Sandra Hayes; grandparents James and Rosa Hayes, Huddie Dean and Esther Herndon Eddie, and an Uncle Kent Hayes. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, one daughter Sanaa Hayes and one son Zion Hayes; two brothers, Tyrus (Montina) Dean, James (Depetria) Jones; three sisters, Sharon Dean, Sherry (Kevin) Nichols and Tonya (Anthony) McMannen, He is also survived by five uncles, Robert Hedgepeth, Donald Hayes, James Chavis, Huddie Dean Jr, and Anthony Rush; seven aunts, Olympia Hayes, Patricia Reams, Demetrice Brown, Jacqueline Couch, Robin Herndon, Laura Murphy, and Geraldine Wright, six nephews, nine nieces, and a host of family and friends .
