On August 2, 1965, weighing 5 lbs, 5 oz, David Carl Parker "slid into this world!" His parents, Evangelist Myrtle Jean and the late John Travis Parker Hester Parker Amos were excited to welcome their second child. On Monday, October 14, 2019, Carl gained his heavenly wings and went home to be with the Lord.
Carl was devoted to his family and they were devoted to him. He always reminded us of the importance of family and the bonds we share. He enjoyed all sports and developed a passion for automobiles. This passion was nurtured by his Uncle Preston. Watching old Westerns was another of his favorite pastimes. Carl truly loved singing and his favorite song was "Walk Around Heaven All Day."
Carl attended Durham Public Schools and earned his GED. During his life, he worked as a chef and was employed at Duke University. His most cherished job was working for his Aunt Judy and Uncle Preston at J & R Charter.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Evangelist Myrtle J. Amos; his stepfather who lovingly cared for him for 41 years, Bishop Dr. William H. Amos of Durham, NC; a devoted son, Jason Armel Graham (Adrianne-mother) of Greensboro, NC; a sister, Sheila Spencer (Harold); a brother, Eric Parker (Shufonda); 5 aunts, Bertha Hunter of Philadelphia, PA, Judy Kee (Preston), Ella Crawford and Isabel Hester all of Durham, NC, Lucy Hester of Newark, NJ, and 1 uncle, William Hester (Marquette) of Newark, NJ, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 5 great-nieces, 3 great-nephews and a host of family and friends.
