Obituary for Daniel Lee Pressley

Daniel Lee Pressley was born on January 6, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York to Selina Whetstone and Darrin Pressley. He fell asleep in death on May 1, 2020, at the tender age of 29 in Durham, North Carolina.

In 2009, Daniel graduated from Hillside High School where he was a part of the schools musical assemblies. He continued his love for music by attending the Living Arts College where he graduated with a degree in Digital Audio Production & Design. Daniel was naturally talented. He enjoyed writing and producing music. He was a self-taught keyboardist, guitarist and recently started to teach himself to play the violin. His group, The Koolest, was nominated for a Carolina Music Award, Best Group Category, and several other accolades.

Daniel used music as a way of expressing his love for people and nature. One of Daniel’s songs thanked and said “I Love You” to everyone who played a major role in his life. Above all, he thanked Jehovah first.

Daniel loved cooking, fishing, and barbecuing and was exceptional with intellectual conversations. Daniel appreciated all of Jehovah’s creations and one of his biggest desires was for him to live outdoors where he would be able to freely roam in the woods, climb mountains, fish everyday and play with the animals. Daniel loved plants and his favorite were red roses. He desired to have a garden and he recently taught his gardening skills to sister Marquetta (Ketta).
Daniel had an infectious smile that would light up a room. He brought joy to every person that he encountered. He loved making people laugh, sincerely loved helping others, and was very humble and private about the people that he’d assisted. He loved working on his vehicles.

Daniel loved traveling and spending time with his sister and she loved the time spent with him even more. Everyone thought they were twins. They took care of each other. Daniel looked forward to seeing his friends and family in paradise.
