Mrs. Clara Mae Bullock Cooper was born December 29, 1921 in Durham County, North Carolina. On January 14, 2019, she transitioned from this life to heaven. Mrs. Cooper was proceeded in death by her parents, Johnnie Coggins Bullock and Martha Moore Bullock; sisters, Gladys Bullock, Ollie Richards; and a son, Edward Junior Cooper. She was a soft spoken, determined, hardworking, warm and compassionate woman who was very supportive of family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a faithful member of Lipscomb Grove Baptist Church until her health became a concern.
She graduated from Little River High School in Durham County, NC; and received additional training at Durham Technical Institute, and North Carolina Central University. She was employed with North Carolina Memorial Hospital as a Ward Clerk and Medical Records Secretary. While working at the hospital, she received several certificates of Merit. In 1987, she retired after 18 years of service. The following years consisted of keeping busy with select job opportunities. She enjoyed planting beautiful flower gardens, and when possible enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
As her health began to decline, she experienced multiple set backs. But, she would always get back up and overcome with the support of God, her medical doctors, and family. She fought good fight.
Leaving to cherish her memories are: her husband of 72 years, Joe Eddie Cooper; Daughters, Barbara Cooper-Robinson and Diane Cooper-Duston; granddaughter, Briana Clarise Cooper; two nieces, Florida Bullock Hill and Sharyl Richards; and a host of relatives and friends

To Mr. Cooper, Barbara, Diane and Family,
I know the hurt and pain you must feel…… but know that the Lord says, He will never leave you nor forsake you. You were GOOD daughters!! He will comfort, bless and keep you close in time of sorrow and remind you of treasured memories and the gift of shared love.
Your Mom’s beautiful smile, soft spoken voice and caring spirit will be missed by those who knew her best. I will always remember her love for nature, growing food, canning and most of all when it was ready to be eaten! Believe me ya’ll……., it was soooo good: pickles, cucumbers, okra, spaghetti sauce etc.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted (Matthew 5:4)
